I'm another user very disappointed, after updating to Android 5.1 my front camera stopped working. I tried everything, 1st using logcat, then full reset and finally Xperia Companion Repair, nothing has fixed the front Camera.
I've been reading this forum and many others about this problem that many users experience and the only answer Sony is providing, is to send the phone to the support centre. Come on ! I'm sure it's not only myself that think is kinda obvious that the upgrade to 5.1 affected the front camera, so please Sony, instead of asking us to waste our time, fix the problem and release another update. I'm sure you had plenty of users already sending their phones to your service center and you should have a clear idea on how to fix it.
This is not the 1st time I had a problem after and update (check my forum history), so I think before releasing an update Sony should test it properly !!!
Same problem here!! After a software update, the switch camera icon is missing. I reseted my phone, did a software repair with PCC but nothing worked. Im gong to have my phone checked out by a Sony repair center here in Monterrey Mexico. I'll let you guys know the outcome.
@grouchon If a software repair didn't help you should get your phone examined further at an authorised service center. You can contact your Local support team for more information on how to proceed with this.
I started this forum in February and there's still no solution.. I really really really hope that the Marshmallow update helps all of us who shares the same problem
Hi @IzzatW, I'm very sorry to hear that.
I do recommend that you get your device examined by an authorised service center. Your Local support team can help you proceed with this.
