Today just out of the blue my XZ started freaking out. The "back-" , "home-" and the "active apps-button" started just to press themselves, just as the screen would have water on it. Several restarts and shut down - start ups have been done without any result. Deactivating Facebook made it better for a while when it got back to where it was before. Shutting of the phone and waiting for lika an hour and then starting it upp seems to work att the beginning, but after a while it starting to act weird again.
I have cleaned the screen with a micro-fiber cloth, but no result.
Anyone with the same issue or anyone with ideas what to do before i go back to the dealer to claim a repair. The phone is about 4 months old, updated with all latest software
Hi @MoggeW, welcome to our community!
I'm sorry to hear about this.
Do you have a screen protector on your phone? If you do, could you try removing it and see if there is any change?
If there is no change, try rebooting your phone in safe mode. This way we can see if a downloaded application is the cause of this since these applications won't be loaded while the phone is rebooted in safe mode!
Let me know if that helps!
No screen protector on, never has been.
I have tried the safe mode, but the result was the same.
I happens very intermittent, sometimes the phone will work for about 10-15 minutes without any problem, sometimes it starts within a minute after locking upp screenlock and sometimes it starts already when I just wake the screen with the powerbutton and the lockscreen just flicks back an forth.
I'm on a ski-vacation right now, but when I'm back home I will to my dealer and claim a repair or a new one.
My feeling is that it is hardware related, the digitizer or something with the screen...
Thanks for the update!
I'd recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion when you get home and you have access to a computer again. By doing this we can rule out that this is caused by the software in your phone.
Do note that all data stored on the internal storage will be deleted so creating a backup using Xperia Companion before starting with the repair is advised.
Should you experience the same behaviour with the back, home and task button after the software repair has been completed your phone will have to be examined at an authorized service centre and your Local support team can assist you with arranging a repair and answer any questions that you may have regarding warranty, service routines and so forth!
I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may cause and enjoy your vacation!
