Hi @DrAlvin, sorry to hear about your phone. Slightly_frowning_Face

I would recommend that you start with press and hold down the power button and volume up at the same time for 10 seconds, you will receive 3 short vibrations and the phone will turn itself off and you can try power it on again with the power button!

If there is no change, try the 2-minute restart procedure.

  1. Press and hold down both the volume up key and the power key for 120 seconds, ignoring any vibrations.
  2. Release the keys. The device turns off automatically.
  3. Charge the device until a charging icon appears on the screen.
  4. Turn on your Xperia device.

Let me know how it goes!

I tried both steps and no use.

is there a dedicated soft reset button like in other Xperia models?

Hi again!

The Xperia XZ does not have a reset button like some of our other Xperia models, that is correct.

You can try removing the SIM and/or SD card from your phone and see if you are able to power it on, if you still can't charge your phone for 3-4 hours using the charger that was included together with your phone and that you use a wall socket.

If there is no change, I would recommend that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do note that this will delete all data stored on the internal storage in your phone and since it can't be powered on and unlocked, there is no way to create a backup of the information on your internal storage.

Keep me posted!
