Here's the big question!
WILL THE SONY XPERIA XZ FEATURE A FINGERPRINT SCANNER IN THE UNITED STATES, OR NOT?
If not, I likely won't be purchasing this device.
My second qustion:
If it doesn't come with a fingerprint scanner, will it be disabled via software, or hardware?
Thanks
According to the information i have, the US version of Xperia XZ will not have a fingerprint scanner. I'm afraid i don't know if this is a software or hardware limitation.
Hello, I really like this xperia model xz, but I have been disappointed to see that the fingerprint sensor has not been included in the model for the United States, it seems a complete discrimination sony's followers
I agree with you that it is a disappointment that it's not included, but I don't think that we should go that far and say:

There's no official statement but it might be a copyright restriction, but it might be a way around that, perhaps flashing a different software will enable the fingerprint sensor.
I understand that America is not the most important market for mobile sony, but leave the faithful followers of the brand does not seem smart. it is time to renew my phone but if Sony does not rectify his desicion I will be forced to look for another brand mobile.
I agree with you, it'll be great if we get Sony devices with carriers but that's more on the carrier side than Sony, but I think you can use flashtool or Xperifirm to enable the fingerprint sensor.
For those of you interested in the reasoning behind the lack of fingerprint scanner for the US...
I think I found the answer, and I wonder why Sony hasn't publicly explained this...

This is a patent filed by HP on how a machine could have a Power button with an embeded fingerprint scanner.
The other smartphone vendors for the US are usually placing the scanner on the "Home" button instead of the power button... and I wonder if others that place them on the back are getting sued or limited in the US.
Anyway, I am glad that at least Sony is providing the hardware so one can actually flash a rom from a different location and temporarily solve the issue
Hello has anyone found out if the phone will have the finger print reader disabled or is it just easier to just buy the international version of the phone??
