Cannot select text message content.

Hi,

I just got a XZs recently and I am quite disappointed with the sms app. It doesn't allow me to select and/or copy part of the content (e.g. I need to copy a token key sent to me via SMS).

It doesn't treat valid phone number as phone number as well: I have MCA enable, and when the mobile operator send me MCA sms, the phone doesn't allow me to click and dial.

Have you got any recommendation about that?

The stock SMS app has indeed basic functionality, you can copy the whole SMS message by long pressing the text body, then you can paste it into any note app to further copy a part of it.

The alternative is to download another 3rd party SMS app from the Google Play store. There are numerous apps out there like Google Messenger, Facebook Messenger, Go SMS, etc.

But why the stock sms of the previous Sony, e.g. M5 or Z5 have better feature? Is that the price to pay when upgrade to Android 7.0?

Change in minor options like this, especially on Android, is not a price you pay or anything. As I told you, you have a plethora of apps on the store, and that's one of the great concepts about Android: flexibility.
