Is anyone else totally disgusted with the built in obsolescence of Sony Bravia TVs?

I now find that my Sony Bravia 42W805A has recently become incapable of receiving BBC iPlayer or Amazon Prime, but otherwise remains completely satisfactory in quality and reliability.

I am usually impressed with design and quality of Sony products and I would have expected Sony to offer discounts to existing customers of at least 50% for purchase of a new Sony model which will not have these problems.  I would also expect Sony to then recover re-usable parts from returned equipment as their contribution to minimising global waste.

Sadly I now believe that built-in obsolescence is a deliberate tactic by Sony to reduce the life cycle of their products.  I will be seeking a replacement TV from another manufacturer.
