Sony vaio laptop keeps on freezing only works on safe mode?

Got a sony vaio laptop since 2 years, was perfectly fine until a month ago it keeps on freezing, i am not able to start windows normally and the laptop works only on safe mode without freezing. I have restored c: drive but still got the same problem. Any solutions?

The laptop model is PCG-7185M, and it is on windows 7 home premium.

Hi Uszil786,

PCG-7185M is probably the chassis number but not the product number. Can you please have a look on the screen surround or possibly on a white sticker on the underside for the correct product number – you may find it is a VGN-N31 series.

Also can you provide any error messages encountered? This could be either a driver or hardware problem but to narrow this down we will need as much information as you can provide.

If you have changed the OS from say Vista to Win 7 did this problem occur immediately?

Which graphics driver is installed and where did you download this from?
