Sony Xperia E1 won't boot properly

Hi,

My classic Sony Xperia E1 won't boot properly.

I get the Sony Logo, then is says Xperia and then I get the moving waves that you can see on the video I upladed.

I've tried everything I can think of, pressing and holding every different combination of keys. taking the battery out, putting the battery back in while pressing various keys.

If anyone has a bright idea I would love to hear it.

Regards,

Paul

Hi thanks for your suggestions, Unfortunately they are no help in my case.

As I stated it won't boot, so these are the results:-

1. Run the diagnostics test

Cant do this as I explained it won't Boot

2. Restart your phone

Done a forced restart dozens of times, it makes no difference

3. Force restart

This is the way only way I can restart

4. Free up memory

I can't do this, It won't boot

5. Clear app cache

I can't do this, It won't boot

6. Restart your phone in safe mode

I can't do this, It won't boot

7. Factory reset

I can't do this it won't boot.

Hey @Pebbleridge

Can you try to do software repair by the Xperia Companion, it's not guaranteed that it will work, but it's last option that you can try

You need to download the Xperia companion app on a PC or laptop, and follow the instructions here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YQ23k11NFc

If that didn't work, you will need to send it for a service

Hi,

Thanks for your very sensible suggestion.

I downloaded the Xperia Companion as you suggested but unfortunately it failed to connect, it got stuck on this screen.

sony.jpgI can't turn off the phone using the power button, the only way I can turn it off is to take the battery out and then refit it. Other than that I am following the instructions to the letter.

I wonder if that might be causing the connection problem.

Hi again, I have managed to connect now (I was connecting through a USB Hub before).

Unfortunately the new error message says this model is no longer supported.

I'm guessing the best this to do know is bin it.

Thanks again for trying to help.

Hey @Pebbleridge

Yes, I doubt it that but hoped it would work for you. You can check with Sony to send it to the service centre if you still want to fix it, though. I believe it should be still repairable.
