Hello there,
Can someone please, please help me outhere.
My Xperia C4 unit is going black right after I am making calls, and also from time to time when it's rings I can't even see the number, because it's still having black screen. I try calling this *#*...options.. But it would tell me the message "wrong mmi" or so.
What to do about black screen during calls out or in?
Thanks
Do you have a screen protector or a case installed that is covering the proximity sensor area? It's marked with the number 1 in this picture:
Hello there "Moderator",
Thanks for replying, but no I do not have screen protector on my phone, and the case that I have is not covering the proximity sensor.. Every time I making a calls out, its becomeing dark/blank/black.. The screen... And as I mentioned before I dont even see who's calling in because of this reason.
Dial this code *#*#7378423#*#* then tap on Service tests -> Proximity switch. It should say "OFF" and will turn "ON" when you cover the sensor.
Hi again,
Thank for replying. I really appreciate it.
So I tried the options with the sensitivity... And the numbers you suggested. When I cover it, it's keep telling me.. DETECTED, and it's counting numbers up or down when it uncover.. I don't really have the option there as to On/Off switch.. .I don't see where this is
Are you sure you chose the Proximity switch test and not the Ambient light sensor test?
Hi again.
I really appreciate for replying.. So I tried the options with the numbers as you suggested... It went to settings.. And so it's said "proximity sensitive detected" was when I cover it...and it was counting numbers down also saying Cross talk.., but when uncovered it's counting up.. I don't see the option as to switch on/Off....not sure where it is..:( please let me know.
It's not a switch, it's a status if the sensor detects your hand or not.
If you go to Settings -> About phone -> Diagnostics -> Test -> Ear proximity, can you pass that test?
I tried this same diagnostics last night...
But for some reason it would not pass ear test.... May be I should have used the headphones for this option?
I tried ear proximity...
Looks like it passed that test..
But screen still goes black on calls.
