I used to pair my previously owned LG and Samsung TVs wirelessly to my DELL laptop ( Windows 10 device) or to my Samsung phone (Android device). For me, wireless connectivity is most important as I also use TV as a large monitor for my work. I still have the same highspeed internet WiFi connectivity.
Recently I purchased Sony KD-65XG9505 and my TV is having a wireless connection issue along with some other major issues. I wrote to Sony Customer Care (Swiss) multiple times but no one replied.
I have the following problems while connecting with my Laptop Wirelessly:
1. My laptop is not getting connected to the TV. The wireless connection is initiated but then the linking fails.
2. The WiFi direct password that is flashed on TV is not accepted by Laptop.
3. Even using a highspeed HDMI cable, the screen flickers all of a sudden, and once in a while, I see missing frames.
4. Even using a highspeed HDMI cable, the sound gets distorted once in a while.
5. The google cast tab of youtube video played on the laptop does not stream content to TV (this tab worked on my previous TVs).
I have the following problems while connecting to my Mobile phone:
1. The connection drops frequently (in 10 - 15 minutes).
2. Every 5 seconds a frame is lost and this leads to a very poor motion transition. At times looks like slow motion.
3. Mild to a strong level of vignetting can be observed while bright colors are at the edge of the screen.
4. Not able to change picture modes. A default mode is selected and that is too bright. As soon as I press the `Settings button` on the remote control to change the picture mode, the wireless linking breaks.
The same problem I have while using the in-built `Smart-View` app of Samsung phone, or while using other screen-mirroring Apps like Castto or 1001TVs. Or even if I stream content using the Google-cast from Youtube videos played on the phone.
I even tested Macbook and iPhone connectivity, it does get linked but when streaming content I experienced the exact same problems like loss of frame, screen jittering, etc.
Problems other than connectivity include:
1. When I restart my TV, when the SONY logo is projected on the screen, then background black colors show greyish patches.
2. An unimaginable level of blooming can be observed in some scenarios when I am watching videos on the in-built Youtube app.
3. All of a sudden the internet connectivity drops on TV (while I am still having the network on my phone so there is no problem with the internet provider, but rather with TV).
4. While performing screen calibration video tests, I observed mild discolouration or faint patches on a certain part of the screen.
Is it that I have a defective piece. How to reach Sony customer care?
