My new Xperia XZ is rebooting automatically once a day. And also, I can not upgrade it to 7.0. Do you know what could be the problem and how cohld I fix this ? What will happen to the device after reebooting so much ?
Thanks !
Hi @pink2,
I'm sorry to hear this. I recommend that you try and temporarily remove your SIM card and SD card from your device to see if they may be causing this behavior with your device restarting by itself.
I'd also recommend that you reboot your device to safe mode to see if this behavior is caused by one of your downloaded apps as these are temporarily disabled in this mode.
How have your tried to update your device? I would recommend that you try to update using Xperia Companion. To do so, download and install Xperia Companion on a computer, connect your phone using a compatible USB cable. Then open Xperia Companion, press the software update button and follow the instructions on your screen.
Note that software updates are released at different times depending on the operator, market, region or country. Therefore, we cannot give you an exact date for when a specific update will be available for your device. In addition, network operators and specific markets may choose not to avail of the updates for specific models.
Let me know how it goes!
I have also experienced sudden, reboots from my Xperia XZ, it just happened five minutes ago while on YouTube, for me it's an issue that's been happened a lot of times but not every day, and I'm pretty sure it's happened in all my previous Xperias too, the Xperia zl, Xperia a compact, and the Xperia z2, I wonder if this is an Xperia thing that happens to all the Xperia phones...
Before the XZ I've had a Z1 and didn't experience such problems. Maybe it rebooted 10 times in 2 years, but not almost everyday like now.
I also noticed thar a couple of times when my phone rebooted I was also on youtube, hmm..
It is kinda annoying, but the thing that interests me most is how it will affect the phone on long-term..
Usually performing a software repair using Xperia Companion will fix such annoyances. Give it a try.
Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion before software repair to avoid loss of data. But preferably without adding apps nor settings to the backup.
@maniacoand @pink2, have you had a chance to try the troubleshooting suggested in this thread?
If there is no difference after trying the things I recommend that in my first post, do like @Quester suggested and perform a software repair using Xperia Companion.
Let us know how it goes.
