Notification bar states there is an update, but Software update reports device is up to date

Hello,

My Xperia XZ Dual  (F8332 / Build 39.2.A.0.386) started showing an available software update about 12 hours ago. When tap it to go to the download screen, the Software update app seems to sync and state that my device is up to date. I've tried this over wifi, over my data network, and connected via cable to the latest version of XC for Windows. All report that my device is up to date, but the notification won't go away. Is there any way to either get the update or make the notification go away?

After installing the Xperia system update 39.2.A.0.417 on a brand new phone the updater notifies that a new update is available over and over again.  Tried to force stop it but it pops back up... Any solutions¿

I update my xperia xz but after 10 secong it gave me another system update i did it again n now m doing it for 8th time .what m missing?

Hi @s27, welcome to our forum!

You can only install one system update at the time, so you if you haven't updated your device in a while and there is more than 1 system update available you will need to do the first one > restart your device > get a notification that there is a new system update available > install that one > reboot your phone and so forth.

To make sure that you are installing a new update each time, you can go to Settings > About phone and write down the number that you see under "Version" > install the new update and reboot your phone, go back and see if the number is changed, if it is, a new software version was installed in your phone!

Ik keep getting updates from what's new and a system upgrade.  Even when I put both automatically installation off. I got recently the new update and I really hate it, but now I can't go back to the layout in which my phone started as new. if I want to upgrade my phone, than it should be my choice and if it than doesn't work,  than I would have been still my choice.  But I don't like how the upgrading system works here! especially on the what's new which is a complete waste of space since you have Google store.  So my request is to have my phone layout back to how it was when I first bought this phone!

My new Xperia XZ is constantly sending update notifications, as soon as I update, it appears again. Any idea why it's doing this? It's driving me insane!

could you check with >> Xperia Companion ? 

also, go to settings > about phone > which android version and build number does your phone currently have?
