Been to IFA in Berlin this weekend, and I found this: Sony's 4K UHD Bluray Player.

So, you might be wondering why it wasnt announced at the keynote speach...

So, even though its 'reference display' at least its somewhere in the planning

Well Quinnicus, lets hope that they will be available for the European market and not just in Japan despite it being in Germany. This has happened before with Blu-ray recorders - just saying

Im sure that when Sony are ready it will be a world wide release.

Just to update this thread:

Sony announced a 4K HDR Bluray Player - however it is aimed at the high end AV custom installations, so the price (when announced) will reflect this.  So that means im out 😞

Model : UBP-X1000ES

Expected to ship: Spring 2017
