usb connection problem

I have installed xc but still my phone could not connect to pc or laptop. When I insert the phone to pc through USB, my phone don't even show me a notification regarding media transfer or so. 

How should I connect my phone to my laptop.

I think you may be using a cheap USB cable there or a damaged one

Sir I am using original Sony USB cable that came with the device. Even I have used original Samsung and xiomi cable to try connecting with pc. But still it is not connecting to pc.

could you test a different computer?
