Could you elaborate what isn't working with your speaker. Is it with both the ear- and loudspeaker you are experiencing this behavior? I recommend that you test your speakers in the built in diagnostics tool. You can do this if you go to: Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Loudspeaker / Ear speaker. How does your speakers behave in this test?
I would also recommend that you reboot your device to safe mode to see this behavior is caused by one of your downloaded apps as these will be temporarily disabled in this mode.
