Sony C3 dual issue in saving contact to Google account

Hello Guys,

I am facing a problem with saving my contact default to my Google account instead going to Microsoft Active sync, even when I go to the contact > Filter  (Display Contact) here there is no option shown at all whereas in safe mode I get the options like local contact and gmail contacts.

I am getting the options to save the contact to the Google account in safe mode.I have tried flashing my phone connecting to my laptop and reset to factory setting using option in mobile. The problem not got fixed.

If anyone has the same problem and fixed the problem.please let me know how to fix it.

Hi @aditya24786,

That is very odd. Thinking_Face

If it works in safe mode this seems to be caused be an app that has been downloaded.

Did you test this immediately after resetting the phone or did you restore a backup or download any apps first?

Hi chirstofer
I haven't formatted my phone yet, as a colleague of my with same Sony Xperia C3 did and couldn't resolved the same issue. Therefore I didn't formatted it.
Which kind of app should I not use to resolve this issue any idea.
As I was using 360 security which boosts phone but after uninstalling it also nothing changed.

@aditya24786

you could either uninstall all third party apps (any app that was not pre-loaded) or just repair the phone with PCC

software repair

PC Companion (PCC)

Dear Concern,
I have checked and the issue is present because I am using 2 sims, if I remove sim 02 than the phone works perfectly and saves the contacts in Gmail easily.
I suppose this issue is present from Sony's side and Sony should release an update to resolve this bug as what's the point of having dual sim phone if using both sims create issues.

@aditya24786 Could you try only having SIM 2 (the one that you removed) in your phone and check if you are unable to choose Google for you contacts again?

Dear Chirstofer
I have tried only keeping the sim 2 in place but the problem was there and the same message came.
So I can say that if someone keeps the sim 2 in place irrespective of sim 1 is their or not he will face the problem.
Are you representing Sony? Can you tell me how or by when this issue can be resolved.

If this only happens when you have one specific SIM card in your phone it is likely caused by the SIM itself. I have heard of SIM cards that only allows you to save to contacts to the SIM itself and hides all other alternatives because of this. It seems that this is what is happening here. If possible you could test your phone with a SIM card from another operator to verify this.

If the operator of this second SIM card that you are using has their SIM cards set up like this then I'm afraid there isn't much you can do to change this. You could try contacting the operator in question for more information. If your SIM is an older one and they aren't using this setup for their SIM cards anymore it could help if you get a new SIM card from them.

 Dear Christofer,

As suggested by you, I tried keeping 03 different sims from 03 different service providers of our country (India - Airtel/Vodafone/Idea) in the sim 02 slot but the issue was present all the tree time, hence i suppose its not because of the sim or the service provider its because of the Sony system update only.

Can you suggest some other way also by which I and try to resolve this problem.
