When ever I turn on google maps for navigation, system keep searching for the GPS intermittently. Can someone help me please.
Hi @Shashikpa, sorry to hear about this.
Is the application ever finding your location or is just try to locate it over and over again? If that is the case, try resetting the Google Maps application in your phone. You can do so in Settings > Apps > Maps > Storage > Clear data > OK.
If there is no change, try and purge the assistance data for the GPS function. To do that, open up the phone application and type in *#*#7378423#*#* > Service tests > GPS > Purge assistance data, when it has been done, reboot your device and wait 15-20 minutes and then try and see if Google Maps can find your location again.
Let me know how it went!
Hi,
Thank you for the reply. I tried both the solutions you suggested but it doesn't seems to work. The problem is, when ever I try navigation my location will not move as I drive. It stops at some point and directly jumps into another point witout any movement. Basically my location is not tracking/updating in real time.
Thanks in advance for your assistance!
Shashi
Hi again @Shashikpa, sorry for the late reply. I have been out of office.
I recommend that you try rebooting your phone in safe mode and use the Google Maps application the next time you are going to drive somewhere and see if you still experience this behaviour when downloaded applications aren't loaded.
If there is no change, perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do note that the software repair will delete all data stored on the internal storage of the phone, so creating a backup using Xperia Companion before you start with the repair procedure is advised.
Keep me posted!
