My phone model is E5553. Recently, I can't use more than one app, otherwise the phone kills the other one immediately. This drives me crazy because sometimes I leave chrome for messaging, when I come back chrome restarts. When I take a look at the ram usage it shows <150 MB. Google assistant takes years to response, not to mention camera, whatsapp and other vital apps.
I know this may be a battery performance measure, but a phone should multi task with no problems.
P.S I am using android 6.0-29.2.A.0.129

How much RAM does a smartphone actually need? We asked the experts also storage and memory
Thank you for your answer.
I have been experiencing this issue for a long time now. I've tried several methods including the methods from the website you've provided. But this seem like a different problem because none of my applications are kept in background, I can never purchase stuff without a computer since I need to check my messages or credit card information for to do so and when I come back to shopping app everything I did resets. This is one of many and I really think that this is a bottleneck caused by software.

If have just one costumer this problem, can't be software issue, i have Xperia C5 Ultra dual with Marshmallow too, i don't have problems with RAM (which you mentioned, i did not saw it), coz maybe i have CCleaner app which after Marshmallow update looks like deleting everything by my schedule automatic, also i always closing apps which i don't need, i trying to delete all caches and stay smartphone clean. From 2GB RAM i saw need about 1.2GB (the same as was in Lollipop 5.1, there is no changes after update), so about 800mb is for me free
Really strange, if repair with Xperia Companion did not helped of smartphone and others mentioned advises i think it's time to bring yours smartphone to authorized service for test, also you can ask about that in local support, but i think they will say you the same what you read in topic which linked i to you or will offer you safe mode and others standart methods, which actually and usually don't helping, even if really is problem. By the way after update to Marshmallow there is lag even in some games wher is need powerful, also smartphone became little slower, but with RAM i did not saw problem, which you posted

Thank you for your kind interest. I finally decided to give authorized service a shot to see if they have a solution. I am going to keep this thread updated as I progress.
