i have a problem with streaming from you tube because i havent suround sound
Hi materak ,
Regarding the first issue with the sound, have you tried using a HDMI cable instead of the optical?
Also, regarding the remote control, are all of the buttons not working or a specific button?
Cheers,
The_Black_Rose
Fortunately the second problem with the remote is resolved , but the first with no 5.1 sound from YOU TUBE is still there.
Dear the Black Rose
you have not read my first post. I have not mentioned that the AVR is connected to the optic cable with the TV.
My connection always is HDMI especially today with very high bitrat
But ,tomorrow I'll do a test with old tv KDL W905 to see if it will read 5.1 test from YT , because I'm pretty sure it's a problem in the last firmware from 31.Janiary . 2019
I just see that the sony has stopped temporarily a firmware Oreo from 31.01 20 19 so what thats it mean
Hi @materak,
I'm afraid the latest Oreo firmware update is in no way related to the issue you are describing about YouTube and multi-channel surround sound on your AVR. There is no fault at all with either your TV or AVR.
For your information YouTube does not support multi-channel audio streams on a large number of devices, including your XF90 BRAVIA TV. There are only a handful of devices which do support multi-channel surround sound playback of YouTube content (e.g. Microsoft Xbox consoles). But the likelihood for increasing the list of supported devices in the future is very slim, as there is not a market for this within YouTube's largest group of users (ie: mobile users) and even then, most content on their platform is not well suited to be recorded/viewed with multi-channel surround sound.
Having said that, YouTube apparently has been retaining the native multi-channel audio streams for videos being uploaded with multi-channel audio streams. However this native multi-channel audio stream is only available for playback in two of the MPEG4 Audio streams (ID256 and ID258). Which means that these ID streams would only be offered to the very specific supported devices for multi-channel audio playback. The rest of devices like your TV won't be able to request and get access to those specific streams.
So in short, if what you are trying to achieve is to get the built-in YouTube app on your TV to playback multi-channel audio streams from YouTube videos, then I suggest don't expect that to work as of yet.
Hope we have been able to clarify the matter for you in detail.
Cheers,
Dutchice
Dear dutchice,
I already said I had 5.1 on old tv KDL 46W 905 A and it was not hard for me and connect old tv again with AVR
and of course it works, with you tube dolby digital test 5.1
The softwer is PKG 600 EUA so what thats it means.
The new one KD 49 XF 9005 doesnt work .with new firmware from 31.january 2019
Yes dutchice, did not work with the previous oneyou're right that the new firmware has nothing to do with my problem because the brand new one did not work with the previous firware
And where is the problem now ,somewhere in infinity of the sony firware
we'll see
I forgot in front of the software name adda number 4 ,so it was a PKG 4.600 EUA
its work on YT
I confirm.
For the 3 days I had my new 55XF9005 with 7.0, it played DD / DTS from both MKV/AVI and Youtube.
After the update to Oreo 8.0, Yamaha gets only 2.0.
I did mention in another thread that the local Sony service technician told me that it is officially an incompatibility with some amplifiers (like Yamaha) and I should wait for the next patch. Quite soon.
ok guys
so we have to wait for the next step of Sony
I hope that it will be verx soon
Another problem after oreo update
Bravia doesn´t work after when I put the usb in HDMI port .I tried with several versions of the movie but does not want to read anything and there is no sound.
Magnificent and at the same time incredible. Will SONY finally say something about it.
Does anyone have the same problem?
Sony does not really read this forum.
Better send a full description with serial number directly to customer support, so it is recorded and - hopefully - accounted for in the next patch.
What a mess they did out of this update....
