Hi All,
Quick question - what is ClearAudio+ in technical terms and should we enable it on our TV's?
Also what does Sound Mode Sync do?
I have read the online manual and the brief description within settings on the TV but the features are not clear.
Thanks.

Hi @ChrisaLyd_12,
Nice questions! The best way to explain what Clear Audio+ does, is by means of an example.
Compare an HDR image to an SDR image in terms of the dynamic range. In HDR the differences between the darkest and brightest shades is much larger and thus shades have more detail due to the larger number of steps. In the same fashion, the main effect of the Clear Audio+ function is (among others) to extend the dynamic range for certain audio frequencies.
Sound Mode Sync, ensures that the [Sound mode] you have applied to an input source (HDMI, Digital Broadcast, Apps, Apps (Video), etc.) is passed on to your receiver through the HDMI ARC interface. In this way, when you switch for instance from HDMI 1 to Digital Broadcast and by that your [Sound mode] selection changes from [Cinema] to [Dialogue], your receiver will also change its applied sound profile from whatever you have set as the default sound profile for Movies to Dialogue. This function is mostly effective when you have a Sony receiver connected to your Sony TV. As other receivers may or may not respond to this function as intended.
Hopefully that answers your questions.
Cheers,
Dutchice

Thanks for the concise reply - really helpful.
I have an optical soundbar connected so I assume the sound mode sync does not apply to me?
Hi @ChrisaLyd_12 ,
Correct. The Sound Mode Sync function requires an ARC connection to work.
Glad to hear we were able to answer your questions.
