Sony A6700 and the use of HIF files ??,

I am getting super frustrated about the software Imaging edge desktop in relation to its use with HIF files.

I selected the HEIC files 4.2.2 option in the file generation since it seems that colour dynamics is larger then in the standard JPG files. Now, the dificult part is, when i set this option in the camera, it creates .HIF files, that i can only read with the imaging desktop software, and have to use multiple work around to convert to Tiff or JPG. I never see the HEIC files creation. When i launce the HEIC convertion in the viewer app, then that just doesn't work. I can only change it to .Tiff or JPG by going in the edit app from the imaging edge desktop, that does not allow me full control on the ligtning and contrast in highlight and shadow parts, so completely useless. Seems that i need to sell everything to get ridd of this junk....

Eerlijkheid gebied mij te zeggen dat ik die optie niet gebruik. Voor de meeste ruimte om achteraf nog te kunnen bewerken vind ik RAW files het beste. Dat lost dit probleem niet op natuurlijk. Zeker qua kleur informatie zou ik altijd voor RAW kiezen als je wilt gaan nabewerken.
