Windows 10 installed and updated

Recently "Sleep" missing from power options, from all options any ideas please.

I have checked most places, Sleep not even shown in the menu when right click start.

Which Vaio model?
Did you install Windows 10 using Sony's detailed upgrade instructions?
Did you upgrade or clean install Windows 10?
Did you use the Sony VaioUpdate tool during the upgrade?

Windows 10 updated from 7 over a year or two ago.

Last week something strange happened which caused the Sleep option to become unavailable, just before that the screen res changed which meant I had to put it back to 1366. I also noticed to cooling fan seems to be on most of the time, and I wondered if something has happened to the bios, I did have a quick look but could not see anything obvious.

After the problem happened I did the latest Windows update which did not help.
