Can someone please advise me how to copy from my Sony Camcorder HDR-CX240E to my Sony DVD Recorder RDR-HXD890 please.

Hi Tony and welcome.

Just connect the camera to the DVD Recorder by USB cable.

Your camera has a short built-in USB cable and when you bought the camera, it would have come with a USB extension lead for this purpose.

Use the supplied extension cable to connect to the DVD Recorder

The USB socket is inside the front flap of your DVD Recorder - (18) here:-

Unfortunately, no this did not work. We have the cables you mentioned and we also have both Manuals - but all we are getting is a lot of dots on the screen. Might this be because there is also a video recorder and YouView box connected as well? The Sony shop in Hereford have told us that this is not a possibility and we need to put it on the computer and then use an App??? In anticipation - thanks!
