NEX-5 Control Wheel not working correctly

I have a NEX-5 and something strange is going on with the Control Wheel. Rotation left and right works fine, but the Up/Down/Left/Right click functions are mixed up...

Up=Up etc

Left=Down & Exposure

Down=Right & Flash

Right behaves the same as the Centre Button = Select/Enter

Looks like a hardware problem but any suggestions welcome.

I've got the same problem with the Nex 3

The Firmware reflash software is a pain as it won't let you re-flash if it has the latest software, which is ridiculous in my opinion!

i would potentially raise a service call with Sony and have them look at the camera's as its something they may need to address in the firmware releases. and thus the more people that send them in the more they will see and realise that there is an issue.
