Are bluetooth headphones not Playback devices for PS-LX310BT turntable

I've already posted about the inability to connect my Sony or other headphones to my PS-LX310BT turntable. I've had a live chat with Sony today and they've advised me that headphones are not classed as playback devices and therefore cannot connect to their bluetooth turntable.

This seems wrong to me! Can anyone advise? I'll also post in the portable audio forum.

I've done some further research and, as suspected, the Sony Assistant was completely wrong. I managed to locate the user manual for the turntable which confirmed headphones could be connected.

I resolved the issue by following the procedure in the manual for deleting all previous bluetooth connections (holding the pairing button on the turntable for a period of time - 6 seconds I think). After this, both my Sony earbuds and Bose over-ear headphones both paired.
